Course Number: 20191001DPH; This course is AIA 1 LU|HSW.
For most of us, light has been something we’ve always controlled with a simple flip of a switch. The convenience of electric light on demand lengthened our days and shortened our nights. But today, we are beginning to understand that light affects us in many ways beyond visibility. In this course, we will examine the non-visual impact of light in our lives and how this knowledge is changing the way we view and design lighting.
• Discuss and Better Understand the Science of Light
• Investigate the Non-Visual Impact Light Has on Humans, Including on Circadian Rhythms
• Review the WELL Building Standard and Circadian Metrics (EML and CS)
• Identify Trends and Considerations Around Dynamic Lighting
